Quite a few feline-themed posts lately, I know. Sadly, I found out that while I was in Italy my childhood kitty, Krissy, passed away. She was my first pet and we had been attached at the hip (so to speak) since I was 9 - to say I’m devastated would be an understatement. How can anyone explain the bond they form with a pet, anyway? Words seem trivial.
Pictured is Coco, in a virtually identical picture that I took of Krissy when I first began this project. The whole family, people and pets alike, is at a loss for a beloved pet that was so important to us. It’s amazing how animals can shape your life, and how strongly their absence can be felt.

It’s 90 degrees and everything is beautiful, lush and green - it feels good to be home.

Due to booking a flight fairly last minute (and some terrifying initial fares), I stopped over in DC overnight  for economical reasons before continuing on to Atlanta. My friend not only housed me, but provided an amazing homecoming with cupcakes, chips and guacamole, Stella, and her sweet kitty, Cleo, pictured here.
